# Getting Started: Creating Your First App Link or QR Code

## A quick-start walkthrough for creating your first URLgenius link.

Welcome to URLgenius! Here's how to get up and running so you can start creating app-open experiences for your followers.

**Creating an app link or QR code**

1. **Log in** to URLgenius.
2. Paste your web URL into the box on the URLgenius home page.
3. Customize the end of your link, then click **Compose**.
4. Click **Console** to find your app link again, or to look at link-level reporting.
5. Or, click **Insights** or **Activity** from the menu and enter a date range.
6. Click **QR Settings** to customize or download the QR codes for your links.
7. Explore the URLgenius [blog](https://app.urlgeni.us/blog) and [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/urlgenius/) profile for more tips.

 

 

- Your account starts with a set number of **free clicks**. Once those are used, you'll be charged per click.
- Be sure to enter your **billing information** before your free clicks run out — otherwise your account may be paused.
- To view your CPC rate and how many clicks you've used, see **Your Plan** under **Billing Info** in account settings.
- Each month, you'll receive an invoice you can download from the **Payment History** tab.
- If you have high monthly volume, contact us about discounted monthly subscriptions.
