Why Don't My Link Insights Match Other Platforms?
Understanding why click totals can differ between URLgenius and platforms like Amazon or TikTok.
It's common to see slightly different click numbers between URLgenius Insights and third-party platforms like Amazon, TikTok, or LTK since we are SDK free. This usually comes down to how each platform measures activity, not a data error.
Common causes:
- Each platform uses a different attribution methodology
- URLgenius filters out bot and crawler traffic
- External platforms may count impressions or previews as "clicks," not just genuine taps
- You may be comparing different date ranges or different links
What to check:
- Confirm the exact link you're reviewing in URLgenius.
- Make sure the date range matches what you're comparing on the other platform.
- Keep in mind that exact 1:1 parity between platforms isn't expected — look at overall trends rather than exact totals.
