# Why Did My Link's Destination Change Unexpectedly?

## What to check when a link starts opening a different destination than before.

If a link that used to go to one destination is now opening somewhere else, a few things are worth checking before assuming something's broken.

**Common causes:**

- An Amazon Attribution campaign was updated, changing tracking parameters
- Someone on your team updated the link group or default fallback
- A cached redirect in your browser or an in-app browser is showing an old destination
- A platform's in-app browser (like Instagram) is overriding the destination

**What to check:**

1. Review the link's recent changes in your account for group fallback edits or parameter changes.
2. Try opening the link in Safari, in a private/incognito window, and inside Instagram/TikTok's browser to compare behavior.
3. If a mapping looks wrong, it can be corrected — contact [support@urlgenius.com](mailto:support@urlgenius.com) and we'll help restore the correct destination.
