# Why Did My Multi-Link Composer Upload Fail?

## Common causes for a failed CSV upload, and how to fix them.

If your CSV upload to Multi-Link Composer comes back as failed, it's almost always one of a few common formatting issues.

**Common causes:**

1. The file format doesn't match the default template
2. The file type isn't CSV
3. There's a duplicate link somewhere in the file

**How to fix it:**

1. Download the [Multi-Link Composer default template](https://app.urlgeni.us/api/internal/export_csv/multi_link_composer_template).
2. Open it in Google Sheets and add your links into the existing structure.
3. Save the file in CSV format.
4. Re-upload it on the Multi-Link Composer page.
5. Confirm the file and links upload successfully.
