# Setting Up a Branded Domain for Your Links

## How to brand your links with your own domain, and why it's worth doing.

**URL Branding** lets you replace the standard URLgenius link format with your own domain, so your links look and feel like part of your brand.

**To get there:** hover over **My Account**, then find **Branded Domain** under Tools or Settings.

**Setting up your subdomain**

The subdomain you configure here applies to **all links in your account**, so it's worth choosing something that fits both your current and future use cases. Fill in three fields:

- **Subdomain** — e.g., `link`, `app`, `qr`
- **Domain** — your own domain name
- **TLD** — your top-level domain (e.g., `.com`, `.us`)

As you fill these in, the page shows a live preview under **Subdomain URL Requested**, in the format `https://[subdomain].[domain].[tld]`.

Once complete, click **Start the URL Branding Process** to begin.

Click **Best Practices for URL Branding** to expand tips for naming your subdomain:

- **If your links span multiple apps or use-cases**, a broader naming strategy works well: `links.mydomain.com` or `social.mydomain.com`
- **If your links have a specific channel focus**, a functional naming strategy works well: `app.mydomain.com`, `qr.mydomain.com`, or `bot.mydomain.com`

**Why brand your URLs?**

Branding your links to match your domain offers a few real benefits:

- Inspires customer trust that the link or QR code belongs to you
- Leverages your domain's quality score in Search or Social ads
- Increases response rates from displaying the URL (SMS, Print, TV)
- Ensures email filters treat the link as integrated brand content
- Easily configures secure HTTPS encrypted domain branding

**Example:** a standard link like `https://urlgeni.us/GX93` can be branded to look like `https://link.mydomain.com/GX93` instead.
